How Can I Delete Photo Albums from iPhone?

Please note that deleting albums won’t delete the photos in it.

There are 4 kinds of albums in the iPhone photo app:

1. Built-in Albums

Albums like "Screenshots", “Favorites”, “Panoramas”, "Videos", etc are built into the Photos app itself and cannot be deleted.

 2. User-Created Albums

a. Go to Photos app on your iPhone.

b. Go to Albums tab at the bottom.

c. Tap on “Edit”.

d. All the user-created albums have a red “-” button at the left.

e. Tap each red “-” button and tap “Delete”, then tap “Delete Album” to confirm.

 

3. Shared Albums

If you activated iCloud Photo Sharing, then you'll also have access to shared albums.

There are two types of shared albums:

    A. Albums that you created

    B. Albums that someone else created and to which you subscribed

Deleting shared albums has no incidence on your camera roll or iCloud Photo library.

The way to get rid of shared album is to delete all the ones that you creates, or unsubscribe shared albums created by others.

a. Open the Photos app

b. Tap on “Shared”tab

c. Tap on “Edit”

d. Tap on the red “-” button

e. Tap on “Delete” for shared albums created by you, or tap on “Unsubscribe” for shared albums created by others

f. Tap on “Done”

 

4. Albums Synced from iTunes
